Teenage Family Holidays
Teenagers have a reputation as being tricky travel companions. It’s probably all the hormones. But a teenage trip doesn’t have to be a moody affair. We’ve designed a special range of itineraries just for teens and their families. They’re more active, more adventurous, with plenty of outdoors family time to keep everyone happy (and away from their phones). Destinations without the drama – that’s our motto.
Reputably the hardest age range to satisfy (we know you’re not all like that), as parents ourselves we understand it can be a little tricky to please everyone in the family on a holiday, particularly a head-strong teen. That’s where our dedicated teen departures come in handy.
Our range of adventures have been created to suit your teens’ needs and holiday expectations, so you can enjoy an adventure, shared with your older children.
On a teen adventure you will:
- Re-connect on a proper family adventure
- Enjoy more challenging activities, perfect for older children
- Watch your kids make friends with teens of similar ages and interests
- Make friends (or commiserate) with other parents of teens
Teenagers tend to be increasingly independent, so we designed our itineraries with a balance between teen time and family time – they can explore with their new friends, and you can create a few new memories for the family scrapbook. Win/win.
A teen private departure
The teenage years bring all kinds of surprises and milestones, so what better way to celebrate a sweet 16 or enjoy some post-exam de-stress than going on a private family departure? Our private groups’ specialist Jo can arrange the adventure of a lifetime, so get in touch today.
What can you do on a teen holiday?
Kayaking in Turkey’s crystal clear waters
Hop in sea kayaks and head on over the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean to the sunken city of Batik Sehir. Confined to the sea as the result of an earthquake, you can float right over the perfectly preserved ruins.

Trekking the Inca Trail
One of our personal favourites, nothing brings a family together quite like trekking and camping along the infamous Inca Trail. You’ll come home with plenty of adventure stories to fuel dinner table discussions for years to come.

Master the art of canoeing in Botswana
Grab a local Mokoro (sunken canoe) and get back to nature in the waterways of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Accompanied by a local guide, keep a close eye out for elephants and hippos wading in the water.

Spend the night with a local Nepalese family
Staying with a local family is a great way to gain a unique insight into local life and learn a little culture. We’ll take you to a converted Nepalese farmhouse in a small village in Nuwakot. Your family can enjoy this experience on your second night in Nepal.
