Sail the Merry Seas
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
Sailing is a journey; to discover something new, to give you a different perspective on life and to show you the unexplored. Our new family sailing holidays take you across the seas: discover the lush underworlds of Thailand’s idyllic beaches, explore the hidden coves of the Caribbean and glide around Italy’s prestigious Amalfi Coast. Relax on deck and take in your surroundings, or learn the ropes with your personal skipper, no previous experience needed; life at sea is about adventure.
Life on Board
On a family sailing holiday, no two days are the same when it comes to the sea. But, if we had to describe a typical day, it would go like this: the mornings can be spent swimming and snorkelling around colourful coral reefs, marvelling at the many fish species inhabiting the pristine waters. Explore a secluded beach, drop anchor and relax on deck or do whatever takes the group’s fancy.
We normally dock in the afternoon and you can regain your sea legs by exploring ancient sites, shopping in local markets and soaking up the ambience of dry land. Head out for some local dinner before returning to the yacht and let the lapping waves lull you to sleep. Even try a night out on deck, stargazing and listening to the sweet sounds of the ocean.
Your accommodation is on board a yacht of up to 44ft and for our Europe and Caribbean family sailing holidays we use monohull sailing boats and in Thailand, we use multihull catamarans. Our boats are fully functioning yachts to give you an authentic sailing adventure.
Our yachts are typically equipped for eight travellers with four twin/double share cabins, two shared bathrooms and two showers. Yachts are designed to keep space in sleeping areas to the absolute minimum, while maximising common areas as much as possible. As rooms are allocated on arrival by our skippers according to group composition, it’s not possible to guarantee or reserve a berth.
Everyone on board, including the skipper shares the bathrooms. Those who find any discomfort in such close living quarters often find that the thrill and exhilaration of such an authentic sailing experience outweighs this.
Our experienced skippers are dedicated to sailing and will enrich your family sailing holiday with a wealth of knowledge and an infectious passion for life at sea.
