Arrive in Split

Arrive in Split

Following your flight to Split you transfer the short disctance to your base for the week, where you check in to your hotel. We stay in a small hotel located on Ciovo Island, close to Trogir and Split. The hotel has a swimming pool, garden, a bar and lounge and is situated next to the beach. The hotel also offers complimentary wifi.  The nearby coast, towns and rivers, canyons, forests, country roads, hills and caves in the area provide wonderful settings for adventure, water sports and relaxation.

Split and the Diocletian Palace

Split and the Diocletian Palace

After breakfast we head out this morning on a sightseeing tour of the fascinating city of Split. It starts with discovering and uncovering the secrets of the Palace of the Emperor Diocletian which is the heart of Split and was built in 295 BC. The impressive Palace took 10 years to build and is a living monument today. After further exploration of the city we will visit the Riva, a coastal walk where we can relax in the sun and drink in the view of the coast and nearby islands. (B)

Salona and Trogir

Salona and Trogir

This morning, our discovery of the Dalmatian coast continues with visits to the city of Salona and Trogir. Salona was once the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia and Trogir is a modern town-musuem, recently categorized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The afternoon and evening is freee to discover more independently or to relax and unwind.

Cetina River - Rafting

Cetina River - Rafting

After breakfast we transfer to Omis and the entry point for our white water rafting along the Cetina River. This will be an exciting and rewarding day. We use inflatable boats and supply neoprene trousers and jacket, a life jacket, helmet and paddle. All the guides are registered at Croatian mountain rescue and speak both English and Croatian. After a safety briefing you will take to the water and enjoy the grade 2 ( sometimes 3) rafting which runs for about 3 hours. Following the rafting we will have a late lunch in a small family restaurant that will provide us with a feast of traditional dishes in a beautiful rural setting. We will return to the hotel later afternoon where we can swop stores and relax.

Island of Brac - Cycling

After breakfast we take a 50 minute ferry to the island of Brac. We will enjoy a short sightseeing tour with our guide before jumping on our bikes and discover the delights of the island using just pedal power. We use modern, well maintained bikes and supply a helmet. The island has a rich cultural and historic heritage that dates back to pre Roman times, beautiful beaches and bays perfect to relax and cool off during our cycling tour (approx 3 hours). (B,L)

Free Day

After the last couple of days of frenetic activity we have left today free to do as you choose. Why not take advantage of the hotel's pool or the beach to relax and unwind or if you are hungry for more action, there are some optional activities you can take advantage of.

Sea Kayaking

Sea Kayaking

This morning after the free day we now jump into the water and kayak in the sea near to Split. Sea kayaking here is a great way to explore the coastline and after about half an hour we will reach remote and deserted beaches, accessible only by the sea. You can explore caves, the spring of a subterranean river and swim in the crystal blue seas.
No previous experience is necessary and we will supply a safety briefing, sit on kayaks, paddles and life jackets. The Kayaking tour will take approximately 3 hours 30 minutes. (B,L,D)

Departure

The trips finishes this morning after breakfast and you will be transferred to SPlit ariport to catch your flight home. If you want to extend you stay, please let us know.
