Kenya 'is a world-class tourism destination'

Kenya has been a popular tourist destination among wildlife enthusiasts for decades and it is not hard to see why.

The country is famous for nature reserves such as the Masai Mara, which provide travellers with memorable African safari tours.

Organisers of the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) have confirmed that Nairobi will host its Africa & Indian Ocean Ceremony on September 26th 2012.

This is quite a coup for Kenya, as hundreds of the travel industry's most influential people will descend on the nation.

President and founder of the WTA Graham Cooke said the African country was selected because of its growing reputation as a world-class tourism hotspot.

He said Nairobi has emerged as one of Africa's key hubs for business and leisure, making it the perfect place to hold a discussion about the continent's best hospitality packages.

"Nairobi possesses all the ingredients to rise to the challenge of hosting our Africa & Indian Ocean Ceremony - a vibrant and progressive city, brimming with opportunity," he remarked.
