Holiday to Nepal news: Prime minister 'wishes to preserve traditional festivals'

Travellers may have been reminded of the wealth of cultural experiences on offer on a holiday to Nepal by recent reported comments by the country's prime minster.

Madhav Kumar Nepal said traditional festivals need to be preserved to ensure national integrity is maintained, according to The Himalayan.

He apparently made the remarks while declaring today (December 3rd 2009) a public holiday as part of the Udahuli Sakela celebration.
Those looking to see the pomp and the ceremony of a Nepalese holiday for themselves could book onto one of Adventure Company's trips.

In particular, the Festivals of Bhutan could be a great option, as it includes a chance to explore Kathmandu before moving on to the Land of the Dragon.

Here, tourists are able to experience the Paro festival in the spring and Thimpu celebration during the autumn months.

Their itineraries are drawn up to allow travellers adequate time to soak up the sights and sounds of the festivities.
