Winter Activity Week

We had a wonderfully varied week.  The building of the igloos was most entertaining but also educational. The dog sleighing was quite adrenalin pumping but it was the thrill of watching the children master the skis so quickly that was the best part of the whole holiday.

Our tour leaders, Nick and James, were both entertaining, attentive and very patient with the children.  Nick, in particular, as our event organiser, was very good.  We were all made to feel welcome and given confidence that we would achieve all the activities regardless of our abilities. 10/10 to the Tour Leaders!

Relax and enjoy. If taking younger children, maybe check out about early meal times. Meals are served from about 7.30pm but can finish quite late with the children, therefore, going to bed rather late. Mix with fresh mountain air and plenty of activity, and you can get very tired children by the middle of the week.

China Family Holiday

We went in August and the weather was very hot an humid - often uncomfortably so. The trip is not for the squeamish or faint-hearted, and don't go if you are a fussy eater! However the varied landscape, the excursions and the sites are awesome, and you get a great overview of China in an intense 2 weeks. The Great Wall is more amazing in real life than in pictures, and the Terracotta Army is a fantastic dive into history. The mountains and Li river are beautiful, and we had an amazing thunderstorm in the mountains at the Longji terraces which ended the holiday with a bang (literally!)

Our primary tour guide was excellent, and most of the local guides were very good also.

Kids in the Kasbahs

Driving over the Tizi-n-Test pass was dramatic, beautiful and scary. So much variety of sights, colours, sounds, scenery and places to stay. Stopping the van to see Dromedaries (camels) close up was a wonderful moment. The souks were amazing and overwhelming after a while. The call to prayer at dawn was serene. The hamam

Our tour leader Lahcen Hamyouy was a lovely man from a village in the Atlas mountains and was delighted to share his knowledge of the culture and the area. It was good to get to know some local people.

Our children were engaged throughout, especially by the swimming pool in the Auberge in Ifergane. One said that the holiday was five times better than any we had had before. We felt that the holiday was very good value. We were well looked after by the company.

India family holiday

The most inspiring aspect was indian people who were so inventive in making an income and passionate and motivated. The historical palaces were incredible and the elephants at Amber Fort were great to see. Bollywood at Jaipur and the theatre in Agra were not to be missed.

Our tour leader went the extra mile to ensure that we had a really special adventure. He was really professional and experienced and patient with all our questions.

For women loose fitting and more modest styles of dress are more in keeping with the indian style. At night it is fun to lie and listen to the tuk tuks, indian trains, animals, hindu wedding parties and mosque worship etc. but when you want some sleep ear plugs are a help!

Tanzania Family Safari

The trip brought us up close to the people of Africa and its varied wildlife and we were in good company with three other families. Every day felt like a new adventure. We met so many generous hearted people and had loads of great fun. For a holiday of a life time this is one to go on.

Hassan our guide was superb and worked hard to give us so many great experiences.

Botswana Teenage Safari

The best bit was definitely wild camping in Moremi and Savuti. Despite our anxiety before the trip about being vulnerable, we felt very safe with our two guides and it was thrilling to hear lions close by for some hours and see their prints next morning just metres from our tents. The game drives were always fruitful and the very long drives from one location to another not arduous because of the sights and sounds along the way. Chobe was a little more crowded and not so much to our liking but the Chobe river trip was enormously rewarding and hugely enjoyable. We loved the ferry experience crossing the Zambezi, and Victoria Falls were spectacular, but we felt ourselves looking back fondly at Moremi in the very touristy setting of Livingston. A very enriching holiday and wonderful introduction to Botswana and its delightful people.

India family holiday

We took this trip at Easter 2009 and it was fantastic. Such great range of experiences from the wonderful architectural sites in Agra, Delhi and Jaipur to the safari at Ranthambore - we were lucky enough to see a tiger, but even without it's a must to visit. As always with the Adventure company we had an excellent guide and the trip was very well planned. It's hard to believe we packed in so much in such a short time!
