Sahara Family Holiday

Thoroughly enjoyed the camel trek - to really get away from it all.

[Least enjoyed] The lack of shower facilities / hot water at the fixed camp.

During the road trips, volunteering / sharing information about the surrounding area / local history would have been appreciated.

Sri Lanka family holiday

Loads and loads of highlights! To mention a few: camping in a tea plantation, which was a surreal and amazing experience even though it rained; riding elephants and also seeing them close up in the wild; visiting the spice garden, dolphins and all the beautiful temples. We loved it all!

Sri Lanka family holiday

'We all enjoyed the elephant ride, and most of the family got to sit directly on the elephant with feet behind the ears. It was great to feed Kandula (the elephant) and we enjoyed getting wet too! The safari was also fun & we managed to see lots of animals. The long periods of travel were always balanced by fun activities & the people of Sri Lanka made us feel like royalty as we passed by.

Su was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable and extremely committed. His english was second to none & we had lots of laughs on the trip. Su never stopped smiling!!

Winter Pyrenees Family Holiday

The highlight of my trip was having the opportunity to learn to ski as a family and then to be able to ski together on some interesting, and sometimes challenging downhill pistes, in a beautiful mountainous setting.

The standard of the hotel accommodation was disappointing. Although described as basic, it was more basic than I expected with small cramped bedrooms and bathrooms. Also the standard of the food was very disappointing. Apart from the New Year's Eve menu, which was ok; in general the food was uninspiring, of poor quality and mostly not well cooked - to the point where one evening meal (of pollock) was inedible. In addition, some of the activities were rather underwhelming. For example, the route we walked in snowshoes could have been done in normal boots - I would have preferred something more challenging. Also, it was not possible to do the cross-country skiing because of a lack of snow at the centre. The husky sledding was short-lived, uncomfortable and pointless due to the poor quality of the snow. And the snowmobiles was prohibitively expensive. However, I must thank our hosts Nick & Nuria, and all at the Hotel Roc, for doing their best to come up with alternatives - the turbotobogan (which was excellent) and more downhill skiing, in lieu. And I thank therm for addressing the food as best as they could once we gave them the feedback about it.

Winter Pyrenees Family Holiday

"Exhilarating, absolutely awesome" were the words used by the children, and I'd say they were spot on.

The travelling was pretty exhausting, because the flight times weren't particularly "Family friendly". That would be my only criticism.

Many of the items included in the trip itinerary were shorter than I'd expected, and so whereas a day was allowed for them they really didn't fill even half a day. We made the most of this time by purchasing additional ski lift passes, however this made the holiday more expensive than we were anticipating, to get the same level of activity.

The hotel was basic, but clean and, thanks to fantastic staff, welcoming and friendly.

[Andrew] Friendly and helpful - they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and got the most out the week.

Winter Pyrenees Family Holiday

Our hosts - Nuria and Nick were simply outstanding.  They simply couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome indeed.

Because the cost price of this holiday is a lot, we expected much nicer accommodation and food.  However, it turns out that the hotel charges only 60 or 65 euros per person in high season for half board, which is much more commensurate with the standard of accommodation and food we had.  It's not really clear why this holiday costs what it does because the real value seems to be in some of the slightly less tangible things such as the welcoming nature of the hosts and their care, attention and time.  I hope they receive good payment from the Adventure Company for what they do, as they completely make the trip.  Without them, we would have been exceedingly disappointed.

Our group leaders were the hotel owners.  They were excellent as discussed before.

Sri Lanka family holiday

Elephant safari, paddling in the river with the locals and then white water rafting on Christmas day

On several occasions we missed lunch or got a snack very late as the guide forget to ask the driver to stop.
The guide didn't give us any indication of what activities would involve and suitable clothing etc needed.  This meant that we often seemed to be wearing inappropriate clothing when we got soaking wet.
Optional activities were ignored unless we specifically asked for them to be booked.
The trip to a tea factory did not happen despite it being discussed earlier in the day.  We did not get any explanation as to why this was.

Croatian Active Teenage Holiday

This is not a trip loaded with inspirational moments.  Its just a nice well balanced activity week.

Inga was good and made sure everything happened when it was supposed to have.  She was also low key, allowing the holiday makers to drive the pace - I regard that as the sign of an quality tour leader.

Nevel led a couple of trips.  He was exceptional with the kids.  A real asset.

This is a well balanced trip for those looking for a week of activities, happy to try different sports but not experienced in any of them. Activities are all good. Hotel is clean and in general a good place to stay in this location. Suspect there is not anything better. Its one blight is the noise generated from nearby bars on Friday and Sat nights. This was a real pain. Suspect some people will say food could be better but for anyone who has travelled beyond 3star hotels in developed countries the food was more than exceptable.

Summer Pyrenees Family Holiday

The day of the 4 wheel drive treck, the stunning views, the white water rafting and the swimming pool at the end. Topped off with perfect weather and our two guides.

Stu was just great.  Really friendly, especially good with the kids, and excellent company.

The kids will love it and won't moan - prepare to suspend your disbelief.

Jordan Family Holiday

Petra exceeded my expectations. Toursim is down 75% in Jordan according to a local cab driver, and you could tell. As a tourist you have amazing historical sites to enjoy almost all to yourself. Sunset in Amman sitting at the Wild Jordan Cafe overlooking the citadel, hiking to the top of the Monestary (Petra) with a view "the world", snorkeling in the red sea, Mt. Nebo, the dead sea...wherever you went you could fully enjoy the experience. The people are exceptionally nice in Jordan. If there is a time to visit - it is now!

Bassam was extremely knowledgable about Jordan and filled in down time on the bus with interesting and engaging stories about the history of this amazing country. He went the extra mile helping out the other family when their child was not feeling well.

The order of the trip can be shifted around as most destinations are within a manageable distance from Amman. The hotel in the Red Sea was amazing and foliowed by a less than amazing hotel in the Dead Sea. I probably would end with the Red Sea. The hotel in Petra should be reviewed by Adventure Company. Wadi Rum and camping was fun - more time could be spent in the desert - that was too short.
