Cultural Family Holidays
Our family cultural holidays aren’t about remembering historical dates and times, they’re about staying with a local family in Thailand, listening to the tales of Peruvian folklore from the locals themselves and exploring crumbling Roman cities on foot. The educational value of these trips is enormous; from perfecting your French bargaining in Morocco’s colourful markets to learning about plate tectonics snorkelling between two continents in Iceland, many activities relate to school topics such as Hindu festivals, the desert and the rainforest. Mostly, our family cultural holidays are exciting, enriching and unique.
Angkor Wat - Cambodia
Found in Cambodia, the Khmer ruins of this majestic temple are slowing disappearing back into the jungle. Explore the sprawling three temples by foot or bike and don’t miss the famous Angkor Wat sunrise, an opportunity to see the ancient ruins come alive, haloed by Cambodia’s fiery sun.
Taj Mahal - India
A World Heritage-listed site, India’s Taj Mahal is considered to be one of the wonders of the modern world - and rightly so. Imagine what it was like to live in the days of the Mughal emperors as you walk through the gardens and admire the intricate artistry up close. Yes, it’s touristy to pose on one of the many benches in front of the Taj, but who cares? No trip to India would be complete without paying a visit to what is undoubtedly the most romantic monument in the world.
Machu Picchu - Peru
After trekking through the lush green valleys and jungle-clad mountain of the iconic Inca Trail, or for a gentler way up without the hard work, catch the local train, be rewarded with a stunning view of Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas. Don’t miss the incredible view as the sun rises over Machu Picchu before exploring the maze of ruins on foot, or listening to the local Peruvians as they tell the story of how Machu Picchu came to be.
Petra - Jordan
