adventure holidays

Peru is already a huge draw for travellers - and it's likely to get bigger

Peru's popularity will only grow as the country continues to invest in key tourism sites like Lake Titicaca.

Peru is a hugely popular tourist destination - and one of the finest places to visit in South America. Whether you're after a little hustle and bustle in the country's capital Lima or a trekking expedition in the mountains - Peru has it all.

Then there's the culture, history and beauty - which adventure holidays travellers are constantly reminded of.

From Phoebe aged 14

What  I really enjoyed was how much we were involved in the history. Ancient Egyptian history could seem quite boring, but our guide involved us in all of it – even making up little plays for us to act in, so we learnt a lot while having a lot of fun! At all the temples and tombs, our guide gave us little facts rather than vast amounts of information. This  was  easier to digest, especially for some of our group who were quite young!

Family holidays in Egypt

Our Family Holidays to Egypt are packed full of experiences to cater for the whole family. With tour guides to help you and like minded families to share the experiences, you can relax and enjoy a wonderful Egyptian Holiday. Why Turkey is the place to go for a family holiday

We've all experienced it haven't we?

We jump off the plane full of excitement, spend two minutes throwing our cases into the hotel room and then... the other half heads straight to the hotel pool to lounge around sipping exotic cocktails all day, while reading some obscure romantic novel.
For many, this may seem like the perfect break, but not me.  Don't get me wrong, there's nothing peculiar about recuperating from the daily rigours of life in murky old Britain with a mojito in one hand and a bottle of factor 30 sun cream in the other.

Celebrating 100 years of the ultimate walking experience - Machu Picchu

What is your dream destination for a walking holiday? Kathmandu? The Great Wall of China? Mount Kilimanjaro?

Where are the wildebeest? Updates on the Great Migration.

“The Great Wildebeest Migration, is one of the “Seven New Wonders of the World”.

No where in the world is there a movement of animals as immense as the wildebeest migration. Over 2 million animals migrate from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the greener pastures of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya during July through to October.

The migration is fraught with danger. They have to cross the Mara River in the Maasai Mara where crocodiles will prey on them. This is one of the highlights as the animals try and cross the Mara River alive.

Easter in South Africa

I have just returned from a whirlwind trip through South Africa's little-visited KwaZulu-Natal and all I can say is Wow!

My family trip to North India

Our trip to India really started for me and for my daughter on the afternoon of the first day when we boarded bicycle rickshaws from outside the Friday Mosque to tour around Old Delhi.

Safari

Once Africa has stolen your heart, there is no turning back. I first visited fifteen years ago and still dream of emigrating there to work on a safari. It's about as close to heaven as I'll ever come. Safaris are the closest most of us will ever get to wildlife in the natural world. They’re exciting because they are unpredictable. You never know what's going to happen or what you're going to see.

Felucca adventures

The winner of our writing competition, Julie Musk, tells us all about the Felucca Adventure she had with her family in Egypt.

"Our two children (aged 8 and 10) will hopefully have some great memories of our family adventure experience. The tombs and temples were awesome, full of hidden meanings, which our guide Ahmed did his best to explain. Each visit to a different site reinforced some of what we’d learnt and each place had its own unique atmosphere.
