Morocco

Morocco is one of my favourite countries. It's North African culture is as rich as its geography. I first visited when I ran the 180 mile Marathon des Sables in the Sahara desert in the south of the country near Ouazouate, dry and clear, it's a perfect place to enjoy the Sahara which is also why it's become a popular film location. I also love the old medieval port of Essaouira  where you can eat fresh fish next to the fishing boats and walk passed wrecked ships on the windy beaches.

China Eclipse

I’ve been a keen astronomer for more years than I can remember so when the chance came to join our eclipse trip to China I jumped at it, this being the longest total solar eclipse this century.

In our hotel on the evening before the eclipse we were given various local dishes for dinner, and listened to Dr. John Mason, an expert in astronomy and very entertaining speaker. He gave a very detailed and excellent power point presentation about the eclipse, how best to view it and details of where we would be viewing it from.

Used The Adventure Company twice....so far!

We've used The Aventure Company twice so far. South Africa 2007 and Namibia 2008.
The guides in South Africa were great. Ruben with his knowledge of snakes and Hendrick with his knowledge of birds made the travelling interesting. In Namibia Raymond and Joe were likewise knowledgeable and very interesting to talk to.

Family fun in Croatia

It was here at last It had seemed such a long way off when I booked it the previous November. It was our first holiday just the 3 of us, I was both nervous and excited. My 2 girls aged then 8 and 9 couldn’t wait to set off.

Try a canoe holiday in Croatia

Essentially a water based holiday, and a fabulous experience. Having been left to fend for ourselves whilst my husband and 2 other sons went off on a Scout trip, myself and our youngest boy decided to go and have our own adventure.
Being only 2 in a group of 14 was no problem as the other 3 families were very welcoming and friendly, and the overall group size worked very well.

Feluccas & Pharaohs

Wow Egypt, not bad I thought for my second trip abroad. I was going with my Mum, Rachel, Jack my cousin and David, so not perfect as David is a bit mad! I am Tom, aged 10 when we went in August 2007.

One of my favourite parts of the holiday was the felucca boat trip down the River Nile, mainly because all the kids were on one boat and the adults on another. We all got on really well and played cards, gambling for M&M sweets. Cool!

Land of the Dragon

We came back just as the final preparations were being done for the Olympics - Beijing had had quite a make over and the air quality was much improved over the period of our visit.
